Research Gathering
01.
Looking at how other platforms in the space (Brex, Mercury) approach first time info-gathering flow for similar products
Takeaways
- Other flows are pretty extensive
- Inclusion of detailed progress bars sets expectation of length for user
- Initial questions within the flow establish user's role and company type to tailor the experience
- Limited questions on each screen reduce cognitive load

Creating pre-flow screening questions
02.
First screening question weeds out ineligible businesses, second question establishes that user filling out the flow has signatory authority on behalf of the company. Questions come before flow to mitigate extra work.

Design considerations for creating a complete, user-friendly experience

Flow accommodates all business structures (sole prop, LLC, etc.)
We put a question about company structure at the beginning of the flow. Different information auto-populates in the rest of the flow depending on the company structure.

User-friendly NAICS code selection
